The long wait for a Nigerian to win a Grammy finally ended as two Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy and Wizkid both went home with the coveted award in their respective categories.
The Grammy award, which was the 61st, was hosted in Los Angeles Center, California with several celebrities in attendance. Although Wizkid wasn't in attendance, his name was mentioned alongside Beyonce and others as the song, "Brown Skin Girl" was announced as the "Video of the Year". Burna Boy won for the "Best World Album" category.
With these, the two Nigerians have joined Sade Adu as the only Nigerians to win the award for their original works.
Apart from the two Nigerian Musicians, Beyonce won the most awards with four. With four Grammy awards, Beyonce becomes the most nominated single individual with 28 nominations.
Popular rapper, Megan Thee Stallion was all happy as she went home with three awards.
