It seems that Ruggedman's tweets didn't sit well with some fellows, and one of such fellows is Nigerian Writer, Kemi Yeusfu. She blasted the rapper over his infuriating statements.
Ruggedman tweeted, asking why the male actors aren't buying cars and houses, unlike their female counterparts. He shared the post after Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko showcased her newly bought Toyota LandCruiser Prado Jeep.
Ruggedman said;
"My male actors in Nollywood, what's going on? It's just the females that are buying cars and building houses left and right. I wanted to come into Nollywood but at this rate, I'm not coming".
Kemi responded on her Facebook page that most of the top-grossing movies in the last three to five years were produced by females and so, the success of female artists shouldn't be in doubt.
This was what she wrote;
"A glance at the top-grossing movies in the last three to five years will show how female producers are leading in Nollywood. But as usual, a washer up musician overlooks the positive contribution of women and has ignited a debate to further demonize actresses and women by extension".
Kemi further stated that no one can talk about the success of Nollywood without speaking of how female faces sold some of the biggest movies and further creating blockbusters behind the camera.
