Famous Hollywood actor, Christopher Plummer has died at 91. His longtime friend and manager announced that the Canadian actor passed away peacefully at his home in Connecticut with his beloved wife, Elaine at his side.
Christopher Plummer acting career spanned more than six decades. He became famous after starring alongside Julie Andrews in the 1965 blockbuster musical movie, "The Sound of Music". At that time, the movie eclipsed "Gone With the Wind" the 1939 classic as the highest grossing movie ever made.
In his later years, particularly after 70, Plummer continued to feature in substantial movies. At that age, many actors had given up acting but not Plummer. He became the oldest actor to win an Oscar for his supporting role in "Beginners" as an elderly man who came out as gay.
The entertainment industry has lost an icon! RIP Plummer!
