Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo has reached another milestone, as he becomes the most followed sportsman in history with over 500 million followers. The Juventus forward became the first sportsman to reach half a billion followed across all social media platforms.

On Instagram, he has 261 million followers, while he has over 147 million and 91 million followers on Facebook and Twitter respectively. Though dormant, his YouTube channel has more than 1.7 million subscribers.

Cristiano Ronaldo's fame exploded after he signed for Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese star, since signing for United has won five Balon D' Or, four European Golden Shoes, seven times UEFA Champions League Top Scorer, five UEFA Champions League, One European Championship, One European Nations League, and several league titles, cutting across the three major leagues he has played in (England, Spain, and Italy).
