Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta has revealed that he and his family have received death threats from people online since he took over as Arsenal Manager last year.
The Spaniard revealed this following loses to Wolves and Aston Villa which leaves them in the bottom half of the English Premier League Table.
Arteta said this when he was interviewed at a press conference;
"I think if we would be reading everything that is written about us, probably we'd have to stay in bed a lot of days. I think we are all exposed to that in this industry, and that's why I prefer not to read because it would affect my personality much more the moment somebody wants to touch my family".
The Arsenal Manager also revealed that the club is very much aware of the threats he and his family have received and that they are doing something about it.
"It's not going to stop tomorrow, we know that, but medium, long-term, can we do something about it? That's what I'm pushing for. I'm not the only one who is suffering these kind of things, I think when you are winning, everything is beautiful, and you are incredible, and you are the best coach, and when you lose, it is the complete opposite.
That is reality and it's not pleasant. When it goes personal against me, I can take it but when the family is involved, then it's a different story", he said further.
Arteta said all he asks is that people should be respectful in situations like this, and that no one has to batter anybody or try to hurt anybody. He said when people are with the intention of hurting, it becomes a little silly.
