An Alabama Man Sentenced to 16 Years In Prison for Death of His Wife

A man from Alabama has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for killing his wife with a Lucid Absinthe bottle.

The man whose name is William Jeffrey West was sentenced for manslaughter on Monday by Shelby County Circuit Judge Bill Bostick for his wife's death that occurred in 2018.

His wife, Kathleen Dawn West, 42 before her death posted revealing, sexy pictures of herself online, tagging it, "Happy Monday! Make it a great day". She was found dead outside her family's home in Calera, 30 miles south of Birmingham. Her husband, 47, had hit her with a Lucid Absinthe bottle, which left her with several bruises on her head. However, her husband has maintained his innocence, asserting that she died as a result of a drunken accident fall.

William had spent three years already in prison from 2018, which was accounted for. This meant he will spend just 13 years in jail.

During his sentencing, Judge Bill Bostick said William was yet to take responsibility for his wife's death, adding that he had to allow the jury do that for him. The evidences presented in court were too strong for West to go scot free.

William and Kathleen both have a 15-year old daughter, Logan West. West pleaded with the judge to set her father free, citing that he had always been her shield against the world.

Kathleen was a stay at home mother who also had a side hustle as a cam girl. According to reports, her marriage to West were already in shambles a year before her death.
