MTV Africa Music Video Awards, MAMA nominates Shekere, a song created by Afro Pop queen, Yemi Alade and multiple times Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo in the "Best Collaboration" category.
The song which was released late 2020, talks about the Great Continent of Africa and the bond between the people. It became an instant hit all over Africa after its release. Therefore, not surprising to see it get nominated.
Yemi Alade was also nominated for the "Best Lockdown Performance" and "Best Female Artist" categories.
MAMA is scheduled to hold in Kampala, Uganda, later this year, but might get postponed as a result of the pandemic.
